Coming to the Dojo

Our Aikido classes cover the fundamentals and are accessible at any level, so when you come to the dojo you can participate in a class as a free taster straight away or, if preferred, you can observe one. Please arrive fifteen minutes early so that we can show you around the dojo and when practicing wear long comfortable trousers and a T-shirt. Note that we practice barefooted.

Membership Fee

The monthly fees for practice at Ei Mei Kan are due on the first day of each calendar month. The monthly fee is £50 for unlimited practice. A concessionary rate of £40 per month applies for the unemployed, students, senior citizens. The monthly fee for children’s classes (under 18 years old) is £20. To encourage family participation, there is a maximum monthly rate of £100 per family.

There is also an annual membersship fee for British Birankai (British Aikikai), our network for insurance purposes, we are part of the Join Aikido Council. The annual fee is £25; there is a concessionary rate of £18 and the children's fee is £10. This fee is payable every 1st of April.

Students may come to any classes of the appropriate level and the dojo often hosts seminars in which the student may participate.
